10 Day Juice Fast Summary

So that 10 day Juice fast I said I was going to do next spring, I actually did it in August. After gaining back most of the weight and realizing I was still not losing weight just maintaining, I decided to kick it up and go ahead with a 10 day fast to make sure I reboot my system.

This time no cleanse and supplements. Just juice, water, and herbal tea. I did take chlorella and spirulina, which is a blue/green algae.

First couple of days were as normal the worst physically. All the solid food was emptying out of my body and boy it was like an explosion. But I won't go into details...

So after I was cleaned out I barely had any bowel movements. Which by the 6th day is odd not having to go. It makes you think something is wrong, but there isn't. No solid food = nothing to push out that end. Most of that waste comes from urination.

Ok so while the entire 10 days (after the first 2) I felt amazing, mentally I was obsessing about food. When I would eat it, what it would be, and planning for the first meals. Now I know its only natural and all you can do it try to get your mind off of it. But that was the worst part for me. By Day 8 I was ready for it to be over and I was hoping I wouldn't need to do it again for a while.

So this fast came after a visit from my sister. While I didn't cheat much while she was here, I did cheat. Some with gluten, some with Dairy Queen! So a fast after that was probably good timing.

Day 1 my weight was 207 lbs.

Day 10 my weight was 197lbs.

10 days after my fast, I am 194lbs!

So not only am I not gaining it all back like before, I am losing more weight. Which was the goal.

I am going to be starting a new blog just as a chronicling of my journey from now on and I finally become someone who is not obese and is of normal weight and healthy.

Now of course the juice fast is not the only reason I am still losing weight. I drink a green smoothie for bfast, raw veggies for lunch and lean meat with sensible portions for dinner. Limited snacks like 10 nuts or an apple, just to keep the metabolism going.

Very hopeful I can lose the rest now and I will keep you updated over at the new blog!

Day 5!

Woke up very early this morning (5am) which gave me about 6 hours of sleep.

I feel amazing, energetic and ready to start the last day of my Fast/Cleanse. It's easy to figure out what juice I will be having because I just use whatever is left.

Mostly Fruit juices for Bfast, Veggie/Fruit for Lunch and Afternoon and Mostly Veggie for dinner as usual.

Did a 16min session of Yoga afterwards along with some Wii Tennis/Bowling.

Also I watched Fat, Sick, and Nearly Dead which is an amazing story of someone who juiced for 60 days!

I really enjoyed my experience and everything I heard from others for the most part came true.

Also research helped a ton along with the Juicer's Bible. On the colon cleanse side every seems cleaned out. It's strange having a mostly empty colon, I am on the toilet probably within 30mins after a meal(juice). My digestive system is pretty much as healthy as it can be(yay probiotics!).


In fact this fast went so well I would consider doing it again, and for longer, minus the colon cleanse. So next Spring I may try a 10 day juice fast!

So now that the fast is over, what now? Well just like I transitioned into the Fast, I need to transition out of it. I can't just start eating a steak the day after or I will be in serious pain.

So my plan is to do smoothies with limited ingredients for 3days.

No lactose
No eggs

So Kefir, Fruit, Hemp, Nut Milks mostly. Just that makes amazing smoothies trust me.

So thats Wednesday - Friday, on Saturday Night( so I can sleep on the first solid food ) I will consume slowly 1 avacado and 1 Bannana ( probably a puree with Hemp Seed ). Sunday Morning ( Noatmeal - fake oatmeal made of mostly nuts ) for dinner Sweet Potato and Sausage Soup.

And then back to my diet consisting of:

Meat
Fruits
Veggies
Nuts
Seeds

Limited:
Dairy
Rice
Legumes(Beans)
Glutten Free Grains
Corn

Day 4

Wow, so Day 3(Day 7 of no solid food) is when I started deeply missing solid food and looking forward to the fast being over. I want solid bad ..... well wanted ..., woke up this morning feeling refreshed and awesome.


Like my body reset. Now of course I still want solid food and am looking forward to it being over, but feeling this good will help me get through the next few days. Same morning routine as always but this morning I decided to weigh myself and wow, 199 lbs!

Now I know its mostly water weight but still. On to my morning juice:

The Usual Vitamin C power house with Pineapple, Oranges, Lemon, Mango, Apple, Spinach


Mid day juices included Fennel, Berries, Ginger, Spinach Apples Oranges and more.

Dinner will be advanced and filling.

Day 3

Ok so last night I started having some cravings for real food, nothing bad but I couldn't stop thinking about food for about 2 hours. Eventually I fell asleep. It's been pretty easy to fall asleep and wake up the past few days. Asleep before midnight and awake between 7 and 9am.

So today I woke up at 8 feeling fine. Went through my routine and decided to change my morning juice slightly.

Morning Juice:

Day 2

Day 2 and I am doing great, no hunger issues other than the mental images of food that come up from time to time.

Woke up at 9:30.

The transition is key. It would probably be horrible if I had gone from eating solid food, to all of a sudden only juice.

So as usual started with my Colon cleanse regiment and then prepped my juicer and produce. My morning juice was much like the previous morning focusing on citrus fruits which will probably what I do every day.

I did get berries today so will probably add those as well.

Also I am only have 3 juices today since I woke up after 9am.

So my juicing will be at 10am, 1pm, and 5pm

Lunch Juice:

Day 1 has arrived!

Woke up at 7am, a little earlier than I had planned. Took my colon cleanse regiment. Juiced at 8:30pm

My weight is at 205, have been losing 1lb every few days for the past week. I also had some detox/laxative teas this morning. My next Juice will be around 11am.

My morning juice:

Somehow this combo tastes like Orange juice, its awesome!


Started to look over the Healthy Juicer's Bible for some juice idea's.
